# Using Convertify

# Selecting your Figma page to convert

Once the Convertify plugin is running, you can select the page you would like to convert, you can click on any page in your Figma file listed in the left-hand column in Figma, under the Pages column heading. Please note that Convertify can convert one page in your Figma file (per plugin use).

Whenever a different page is selected, the plugin will automatically update to reflect how many layers will be converted on the selected page, and calculate a time estimate of how long the conversion will take.

Time Estimates

The time estimate (eg. ~14 seconds to convert 555 layers) is based on the number of layers in your Figma page to give you an indicator of how long the conversion will take. Please note that Figma pages that contain large images will likely increase the time needed to finish converting your Figma page to your Sketch or Adobe XD file.

# Exporting Figma to Sketch files

After you've selected the Figma page you would like to export for Sketch, you can follow the steps to convert, download and open your .sketch file.

# Selecting Target Sketch Version

If you're running an older version of Sketch, you can specify the ideal version you need by using the version selector dropdown in the Figma to Sketch row of the plugin.

The default version of Sketch that Convertify will convert/export your Figma file to is Version 69.

# Converting Figma to Sketch

After you've selected your Figma page and Sketch version, you can convert your design to Sketch by clicking the Convert to Sketch button in the Convertify plugin. This will begin the automated conversion process.

Figma will freeze, it's okay

Please note that the Figma interface will freeze up while Convertify is processing your layers and converting each one for your .sketch file. You can leave the plugin running and let it do it's thing until the confirmation screen appears.

Depending on the size of your Figma page, this can take a few seconds, or a number of minutes. While it's not an exact time, Convertify provides a time estimate to give you some idea of how long the conversion should take.

# Downloading your .sketch file

After Convertify has finished processing your Figma page, you'll be shown a confirmation message; you can download your .sketch file by clicking the Download .sketch file button.
